Give it a TRY!A Typical Event Day
The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is packed with excitement, fun, and personal achievement. Here’s what to expect:
- Arrival and Check-In: Participants and their families arrive to check-in with their TRYathlete packs (including their Weet-Bix TRYathlon t-shirt), and get their bikes and gear ready for the event.
- Event Briefing: Before the TRYathlon starts, there’s a safety briefing to ensure that all kids understand the course and the rules, with marshals available for assistance throughout the day.
- Start Time: The TRYathlon event kicks off with the swimming leg, followed by cycling and running. We offer a “Splash&Dash” for 6 year olds which doesn’t include the bike leg! Kids are grouped by age and gender, ensuring everyone can participate at their own pace in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
- Post-TRY Fun: After crossing the finish line, participants are awarded TRY medals by sporting heroes, a huge highlight for many. Families can relax and enjoy activities, food stalls, and sponsor giveaways.
- Closing Ceremony: The day wraps up with prize-giving and closing ceremonies, where there’s plenty of celebration and encouragement for every participant’s efforts.
From start to finish, the day is focused on fun, fitness, and personal achievement!
