Nothing beats the feeling of running across the finish line, arms raised, wearing your Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon t-shirt to receive your Champions gold medal from one of NZ’s leading sports stars.
Unfortunately, not every child is fortunate enough to have this opportunity. But together we can help change that through the Weet-Bix TRYathlon Foundation’s TRY IT ON fundraising programme.
Something amazing happens when a Kiwi kid puts on their event shirt for the first time and something even more amazing happens when they cross the finish line, arms raised, and receive their Champions finishers’ medal from one of NZ’s leading sports stars. It’s a feeling of excitement, independence and pride – and we want to be able to share that feeling with every Kiwi kid around the country by helping them TRY IT ON too.
All the money raised will help kids with entry fees and the essential equipment needed to take part in the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon.
ABOUT THE TRY IT ON FUNDRAISING PLATFORM AND THE WEET-BIX TRYATHLON FOUNDATION
Established in 2007, the Weet-Bix TRYathlon Foundation, was set up to give less fortunate Kiwi kids the chance to participate in the TRYathlon by providing subsidised entries or necessary equipment such as bikes and helmets, because we are passionate about the health and wellbeing of all Kiwi kids.
Our research has shown that while the TRYathlon has a positive impact on the majority of children who participate, it has a significantly greater positive impact on children who are from disadvantaged backgrounds.*
Over the last 12 years, the Foundation has provided assistance to hundreds of Kiwi kids.
TRY IT ON has been created by the Weet-Bix TRYathlon Foundation so TRYathlon participants can fundraise themselves to help kids from all parts of the community participate in a Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon event.
100% of funds raised will go towards entry fees and providing the essential equipment needed to take part in the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon
Every little bit helps get deserving kids to the starting line:
$22.50 – half the entry fee
$30 – a new helmet
$45 – the full entry fee
$150 – a new bike
So even a small amount helps.
