What is the SPLASH & DASH?

Specially designed for 6 year old Kiwi kids, the Splash & Dash will see our budding TRYathletes complete a 50m pool swim followed by a 1500m run, before crossing the finish line to receive their champion’s medal from one of New Zealand’s’ top sporting stars.

The Splash & Dash is the perfect preparation for the full TRYathlon.

Spaces are strictly limited so make sure you enter today. Participants must be 6 years old on the day of the event to be eligible to participate.

The course:

Swim:  The swim is 50m long in the shallowest end of the pool or beach. Kick-boards will be available and there will be lifeguards in the water at all times.

Transition:  On completing the swim they will then run into the Transition area, change into their shoes, towel and their Weet-Bix event T-Shirt (which you would have laid out for them prior to the event starting). Our Haier Help team will be on hand in the Transition area to assist them in getting changed and tying their shoelaces. Parents of Splash & Dash participants will be able to meet their child in Transition and assist with getting them ready for the run. Details on this will be shared in the event day guides and in the Splash & Dash event day briefing.

Run: The children will then complete the 1500m run, on their own, to complete the Splash & Dash, and receive their champion’s medal. Parents will be able to wait at the finish line to cheer them on.
