TRY Challenge

INTRODUCING THE “WEET-BIX KIDS TRY CHALLENGE”

The WEET-BIX KIDS TRY CHALLENGE is a virtual event designed to get Kiwi kids aged 5 – 15 years old active and challenging themselves as they work towards a fitness goal. The TRY CHALLENGE will see kids set themselves a fitness goal, create a training plan and then train for three weeks from Monday 16th November until Sunday 6th before completing their TRY CHALLENGE during the week of the 7th -13th of December.

The TRY CHALLENGE is being piloted and entry is restricted to CENTRAL OTAGO / SOUTHLAND / TIMARU and SOUTH CANTERBURY residents only. Participants who are entered with an address outside of the CENTRAL OTAGO / SOUTHLAND / TIMARU and SOUTH CANTERBURY region will not be accepted.

THE WEET-BIX KIDS TRY CHALLENGE is as easy as 1, 2, 3

Step 1 – Begin by setting a TRY CHALLENGE goal.

This is the goal that you’ll take on at the end of the 3 weeks of training. You get to set the activities, the distances or the time. It’s entirely up to you!

The goal should consist of three activities of your choice – this could be a traditional TRYathlon (swim, bike, run), run, bike, run or could even include exercises like push-ups, or star jumps. The activities selected should be appropriate to your age, and level of fitness. You should also think about what equipment and facilities you will have access to.

Step 2 – Create a training plan.

Over three weeks you will train and build towards getting yourself ready to tackle your TRY CHALLENGE goal!

Step 3 – Take on the TRY CHALLENGE

At the end of the three weeks it is time to take on your final TRY CHALLENGE goal which can be completed any time over the week of the 7th-13th of December. Then it’s time to celebrate!
